- I will sign up for health insurance (finally!) if 10 other people get freaky with me.
- I will work from home more if 5 other people leave the office behind with me.
- I will commit to open-source software to save money if 5 other people use open-source replacements for Windows, Word, anti-virus, etc. with me.
- I will spend less money on take out if 10 other people also spend less.
- I will make a real effort to balance my work and personal lives if 5 other people do the same.
- I will put money in an IRA this year if 15 other people do the same.
None so far.

This is a great idea. But I'm not sure how, at least in this early incarnation of the site, we are making our voices heard to powerful people and institutions. If this is going to become a movement, we're going to need tools that facilitate change in our individual lives and in the bigger picture. I'm not seeing those yet. -

Good stuff. Have always found Edumunds.com useful. Here's what I would say about buying a car -- don't get one unless you absolutely need it. Take the subway or ride a bike. A car can be a hassle, especially in cities. And if you do need a car, get a hybrid. I got a used '02 Prius on the cheap and save even more at the pump. -

I think I have the opposite problem here - too much personal life, not enough work - but I do need to figure out a better balance. I'm happy, but BROKE.
