Brittany Charlton is the Senior Associate at The Tesseract Group where she works with clients and is also responsible for external communications and operations. Brittany’s political experience includes working with Congressman Jerrold Nadler in his New York office and with Senator Feinstein’s Office on Capitol Hill. In addition, she has extensive experience in the non-profit sector primarily as a reproductive rights advocate at NARAL Pro-Choice New York. At NARAL, she explored health, identity issues, gender, law, and public policy conducting research on numerous issues with a concentration on FDA approval of the HPV vaccine. After that approval was successfully obtained, she shifted her focus to researching the amicus brief for Carhart v. Gonzales - more commonly known as The Partial Birth Abortion Ban case. Working with Planned Parenthood and The Center for Reproductive Rights she coordinated the work of NARAL, numerous lawyers, and abortion clinics across the country resulting in a research brief that included stories from women who had second trimester abortions and whose right could be infringed upon with the passage of the bill by The Supreme Court. Brittany has completed graduate work in political science at The New School for Social Research and holds a BA in political science and urban studies with a minor in gender studies from Eugene Lang College at The New School for Liberal Arts. During her time at The New School, she founded the first ever University-wide student government and was elected as the leader of that body.
