Having trekked cross-country to Virginia without a guaranteed slot at George Mason University, I was anxious upon arrival, not knowing how much to spend on rent, where to find a job, or which credit card to use. These are the type of decisions we all must face.
While family is important, and can help guide us along, the experiences faced by our elders are different from our own. While different generations have much to learn from each other, it is important for our generation to come together, and find new Tools for Life. It is for this reason that Qvisory has emerged.
Having learned much, I have returned West, settling outside Seattle, excited to be a part of this new organization. My name is Jason Simon, and I am the Qvisory Money Content Manager.
Our generation faces skyrocketing tuition rates, a drop in real wages, excessive health care costs, and other socioeconomic changes. I know what it’s like to pursue a college education, taking classes in the evening, and work more than one job during the day. And of course, there is the issue of credit card debt, with interest rates moving in the wrong direction. Your experiences will differ, but whatever they are, we want to hear your voice.
You are not alone in your struggle to deal with money, work, and health issues. Qvisory is opening a space to foster discussion of the issues that can make us feel anxious, confused, and angry – and help us harness these emotions to increase understanding and make better decisions. Change is what we want, and change will happen as we begin to learn from each other, share ideas, and together move in a new and different direction. I am excited to join Qvisory, and help give you a voice, a means by which to advocate on money matters that affect your everyday life.
The Qvisory community is waiting to hear from you.
A Voice from Qvisory: Jason Simon
My name is Jason Simon and I am your Qvisory Money Content Manager.
Money matters to me as much as it probably matters to you. I know what it’s like to feel anxious, confused, and angry while trying to figure out how much to spend on rent, where to find a job, or which credit card to use. These are the types of decisions we all must face.
I strongly believe that Qvisory is opening a space to discuss these issues, learn from each other, and creatively advocate for money, work, and health issues that affect our daily life.
I have worked for a number of nonprofits in the field of intergenerational relations and dispute resolution. I graduated from George Mason University with an M.S. in Conflict Analysis & Resolution and the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Sociology and Community Studies.
