Allow myself to introduce…myself. As the brand-new content manager for the Work area of Qvisory, it is my pleasure to do my best to equip the people who read this site to succeed professionally.
Having spent the majority of my career in the Human Resources field doing mostly recruiting, I have seen it all: derailed careers, dismal résumés, blown interviews, and easily avoidable workplace mistakes.
It is my intention to bring you the very best advice, culled from my own and others’ professional and personal experiences, in order to help you dodge those common mis-steps. After all, if you spend at least one-third of your day at work, shouldn’t it be as positive and fulfilling as possible?
Navigating the professional world can be daunting to even the best-prepared mind. Issues such as writing a good resume, handling a difficult manager, juggling children and a career, and preparing for retirement confound most people at one time or another. The resources we provide on this site are here to get you through it all in one piece.
I joined Qvisory because I believe that young working Americans face a very different world than their parents did at the same age, and I want to do what I can to help them succeed. There’s a lot of information available out there but it’s scattered, inaccessible, or just plain unappealing. I think the combination of providing valuable information and a community of people who are experiencing the same thing is crucial to success in this changing environment.
I am an innate nerd who spends entirely too much time researching things on the Internet so I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to share my discoveries with you. It is my firm belief that because life is so short it doesn’t make sense to be miserable at your job. No matter what stage of life you’re in, there are ways to make the best of it. I aim to explore them.
Join me, won’t you?
