I would love to lose 30 pounds. I am at 153 and would love to get down to 123. After my car accident and having another baby I gained 30 pounds in 7 years and now am wanting that slim body back. Its hard now that I am 37 and unable to do any running or fast moving exercises. I will start eating more fruits and vegetables, drink 8-12 glasses of water a day, drink 2 cups of green tea and walk an hour a day. I will cut way back on snacks. This is my goal. I have CKD (chronic kidney disease) and I know I have to lose at least 30 lbs (46 would be better) to get to my 'ideal' weight, without being super model thin. Why is it so easy to put on and so hard to take off?

I've already lost 23 lbs., so seven more seems like a reasonably easy goal, especially if we have five years in which to accomplish it! Seriously, I would hope to have dropped at least another 35 by then. So far, I've been eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking a bottle of green tea every day. Eventually I know I'll need to create and maintain an exercise program, but for now, I'm riding the changes in diet as far as they will take me!

So, for several years I have been thinking about doing this and 30 pounds sounds about right. I have given up alcohol and lost a few pounds just from that. Thinking about switching from sugar to Splenda and eliminating evening snacks. Big problem is I developed tendinitis in my ankles this summer and have trouble with lots of walking. I hate bike machines, the streets are too slick to ride and I can't afford any equipment. Any suggestions?

I am currently doing weight watchers and have 32 lbs to go to hit goal weight so I am in!! I've lost 15 lbs so far. I have revamped our diet,... cut out the processed junk foods, replaced them with healthy snacks, and started training for a 5K and plan on doing the March for Babies to help keep my fitness level higher.

30 pounds works out to approximately 13 kilos, which sounds reasonable ... you're on! What's your weight loss strategy? I'm thinking less junk, more exercise. Ideas?
